Thanks Noel for your help.
yes, I did rebuild the stylepicker, I also deleted the two *.lsw files and then rebuilded the stylepicker. I also clicked on 'Find new styles option'. I always get 4,773 styles entries. That is for my BIAB installed on my internal drive.
On my external drive, I got more than 11,000 styles entries. That looks very strange to me.
