I have been using Binab Ultrapluspak now for several years to create backing tracks for our small jazz combo

Simply the best programme we have found

I got my USB hard drive in 2010 so obviously it ran BinaB 2010

I use a desktop to write the tracks and do some composing for our band and a small Notebook PC for working live on stage

After several disasters using the USB hard drive plugged into the Notebook on stage, we decided to copy the entire programme to the Notebook

I also copied the entire programmme to my desktop as well

Over the last couple of years I have continually upgraded to 2010.5, 2011, 2011.5 by purchasing DVD Rom discs and also purchased realtracks 83-101 on DVD Rom discs as well as dowloading all the updates from the PG site

I always update the desktop, notebook and the USB hard drive so they were all running 2011.5 fully up to date

The time came to change out my desktop so I bought a new one and stripped everything off the old one including BinaB and donated it to a local school

It then came time to reload BinaB onto the hard drive of the new PC

I had hoped and assumed that as the USB hard drive was happily running Binab 2011.5 with all updates, that when I installed everything onto the new PC that is what I would get

Unfortunately that is not what happens

What happens is that it simply installs BinaB 2010 again

I am not a computer buff but I couldnt see anyway to change that

What that meant was that I had to start all over again installing everything I had purchased since 2010 and downloading all the patches/ upgrades etc

It took well over 3 hours

What I think this means is that the only way round this is to keep buying the USB hard drive version of every BinaB release--thats very expensive and seems to me to negate the benefite of buying upgrades to your existing system

Obviously you dont change your PC every few months and I know you can run everything directly from the USB hard drive but thats not what I want to do

Have I just wasted 3 hours---is there another way to have done this

Tx

Phil

I have just ordered 2012 on DVD Rom so this issue simply compounds itself
