I'm currently trying to decide whether to use Ableton or biab for playing as a one man band live. I was using biab to create audio tracks, cutting them into the song sections in Ableton and playing them back using a midi controller to trigger the next song section/scene for a jamming situation. The great limitation I found in Ableton is that I have a one bar window to trigger the next section/scene which has to be timed exactly within the right bar or the change will not happen seamlessly to the next song part/scene. It works fine set up to play straight through.

My BIAB is the PC version so I would have to buy either Parallel or Boot Camp to make it work on my Mac. Anyone know if this would work well? slow down my Mac? other problems/limitations I need to know?

I'm under a lot of pressure to make a choice very soon to stick with Ableton with it's big limitation or get BIAB working on the Mac with a gig coming up soon on the 10th of March. Ableton would allow me to do more to fix up some of those endings, etc. that don't work so well (notes, drum hits that carry over, or creating silence for a pause, or adding strings, etc.).

Any experience/advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Larry
