Hi.

Although I don't really use Real Band (I need some extra features that are present in BIAB but not in RB), I've decided to "give it another try" because it's unique ability to regenerate parts of a track (let's hope PG Music decide to implement that feature in a future version of BIAB)

However today I've found a serious problem: after opening a mgu file with RB, and choosing the track view, the track names and their corresponding wave forms are completely misaligned, wich turns working in the track view a very difficult task.

Maybe it's better to graphically explain the problem; in this snapshot you can see how tracks names (the panel situated on the left side of the screen) and actual waveforms (right) are misaligned: the orange selection belongs to the "RT 576:Guitar, Electric, Soloist" track:

Any ideas?

On the other hand, I've found that when I try to select a portion of a track in the tracks view, it's difficult to select exactly what you want, since the selection doesn't seems to follow the exact point where you're clicking with the mouse. Is it anything I can do to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

PS: Im using RB 2012 Build 6 BETA runing on a Windows 7 home system.

Wow, never seen that. Although, I have not install v6? Could that be the cause?

Cerio - you seem to be missing the "bar ruler" above your first track to the right of "play selected area".

Did you notice that?. I have installed Build 6.

Wish I could be more helpful, but I can't see an on/off switch for the bar ruler.

Suggest a re-install of RB 6 update. That missing bar marker at the top of the tracks window is causing this.
Try closing and reopening tracks window once first.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Thank you all for your answers. Reinstalling the update solved the misaligned tracks problem. Any input about the selection "problem"? Is it normal behaviour?

Cerio, increasing the 'resolution' will help with a bit more accuracy for selecting a region. This is a slight annoyance for me also. Sometimes very hard to be as precise as one needs to be.

Options - resolution; raise it to 3920.
Makes the mouse grab much more accurately in the edit window.

Glad the alignment problem is solved at least !

I've tried increasing the resolution, Mitch, but the truth is that I haven't noticed a great improvement. Yes, not really a problem, but it would be great if PG Music would fix this.

Thanks, anyway

It is helpful to use the Audio Edit Window, which you can expand to allow you very precise selection at the maximum resolution. Use the "Select Whole" Button to highlight complete track then use the cursor to select the start of your selection and select F7 to confirm the start point.

Now find the end of your selection and select F8 to confirm it. You can refine your selection at either end by clicking a new postion with the mouse while depressing the Shift Key.

You can now use a number of ways to move/copy/delete your selection. For Example: if you use Cut and Paste, then the selection can be pasted exactly to a Bar, note, Ticks position. Drag and Drop has a panel which can also provide with pecise information.

That's a good workaround, thank you very much!

Not a good workaround at all. It's the whole purpose of the audio edit window.

My experience has been that I get too fast with the mouse and it doesn't grab what I thought it should. If I click and hold for a second befor dragging, it highlights the section more accurately.

I've found that clicking, and dragging straight DOWN first, then to the right, helps a bit. But I agree, this should be addressed for better editing at some point ?

Unfortunately, I'm having the "misaligned tracks" problem (plus some Acess violation crashes) again, even after reinstalling the update. It happens from time to time, but closing the program and reopening it (sometimes it takes three or more attempts) solves the problem. Nobody else has experienced this problem?
