Well, this is my last song for FAWM 2012. Actually, it is only my eighth, but after this tune, in mid-February, a horrible chest cold set it (you can hear the onset during this tune), and that ended FAWM 2012.... Maybe next year.

Meanwhile, this is a stab at a sort of roadhouse blues, again about a sorry loser, like most of my songs. It is all Realtracks, the usual suspects, including Brent Mason.

I suspect that there is an album in the works -- maybe "Trailer Park Romances." Apologies to any of you this offends.

Robb:

The link should take you to the my FAWM.ORG page, where there is a player, which plays the tune...you have to click the player. Works from here, can't imagine why it wouldn't work for you. Anyone?

The link worked for me.

I like your voice.
It fits this type of music well.

It sounded to me like Brent Mason maybe was nipping at that beer himself a bit too much.
His solo just didn't jive with your arrangement IMO.

Hi Brad,
Nice tune and vocals. Regarding the solo, one tip is to use a rock or country soloist, instead of a blues soloist (use blues only if the progression is a bluesy one).

Have Fun!

Brad,

Great song and lyrics, loved your vocals.

Again gotta say it, the lyrics and song could be
backbone for a TV show of movie.

Great story you wrote.
Really liked this line.
Quote:

And I started thinkin, that I'm about to run outa beer.

Back in early days before wife and marriage a lot of us young G.I.s
would measure the cost of something by how many beers it would be.

Wonder I/we survived that part.

Thanks for sharing you hard work and music!

Thank you Peter, and yes, you are right.

My explanation (excuse) is that, after ramming through a song in it's entirety for FAWM in 1-2 days, the very last thing I look for and add is the RealTracks solo, and I confess, I don't give it a lot of thought.

THanks Tim, Seeker, and Tommy.

Yes, beer is very important in certain subcultures for keeping score, even keeping time. And no, Tommy, my trailer park days are still ahead of me. Apropos of that, and Seeker's comments, I was recently writing another tune, with the following immortal lines:

"If we had enough beer, If we had enough beer, dear.
We could get used to living -- here."
