Guitar, in general do not need Phantom power, and direct line in will most likely do. Open the windows sound card applet, the little speaker icon in the lower right hand system tray, and make sure line in is active, and the volume is up.
A small mixer would help, and or an interface. These give you a place to mix the tracks so as to monitor them as they are added.

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
