Is Amplitube supposed to work in RB? when I try to load it I get a message saying "that amplitube is not a valid vst", or something to that effect. Any ideas? or there is an actual issue with that? Please advise. Thanks.

Hello,

You may have installed the 32bit and 64bit versions to the same directory and your 64bit VST over wrote the 32bit VST.DLL (the one we want)

I would suggest that you install Amplitube again and this time un-check the 64bit option but keep 32bit checked and install it to the same original directory as you did initially.

Thanks,
Rob.

Ok, thanks for the answers, on that note Rob, it did installed fine in BIB, so, do I need to have the 32 bit one even though I'm using a Windows 7, 64 bit computer? I don't want to mess things up.

Thanks again

Mike B.

Hello,

Yes Band-in-a-Box and RealBand are 32bit threads and so any VST plugin running on the BBW.exe thread will need to be 32bit as well.

It is also possible you installed both versions of the plugin in different locations (they have an identical file names) and are perhaps now choosing the 64bit item when the 32bit version is available in a slightly different location.

You may just want to remove the plugin and re-install the 32bit version only, to a specifically convenient location.

Thanks,
Rob.

I wouldn't do that Rob. If he uses it "Standalone" it's nicer to have the 64bit version. I have both installed on mine.

That is certainly a consideration, the 64bit version would be nicer standalone or if you have a 64bit DAW you also plan to use it in. As far as using it in Band-in-a-Box I was thinking it would be cleaner to have one VST.DLL to deal with.

Thanks,
Rob.

I've been using Amplitube & SVX for 2 years & abt 1-1/2 years on the win7x64 machine. It just installed were it should. I think I'd uninstall both versions and do a reinstall paying close attention to any questions asked. But first try this.I'm thinking that when he tries to "addVSTi" in RB he's navigating to the wrong one.If he looks in C:/ he'll find there's a "Program Files" folder & a "program Files(x86). Each of these folders has a "VST Plugins" folder. Each of these folders has an AmpliTube 3.dll. If you've navigated to the "program Files" folder then the the "VSTPlugins folder and click on that Amplitube3.dll you'll get an error. You need to go into the "Programfiles(x86)" folder. Hope this is clear.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to reply. It seems that the consensus is to re-install the plugin. So that's what probably I'll do. Thanks again.

I have received an EMail regarding an upgrade to AmpliTube Free but the link doesn't work - I will need to explore the Home site.
