I've found that since maybe version 2011, it seems to work better for me than it did in earlier versions. I don't remember what version of BIAB introduced the feature. Using archive.com, it is possible to find out, but is there a reason you don't want to upgrade to the current version, 2012? It is worth doing for so many other reasons beside the Audio Chord Wizard (ACW).

Unless you are talking about recognizing chords in MIDI, which goes back further. I assume you mean the function of reading chords from an audio file, right?

I don't have BIAB on this computer, but in version 2012, the ACW is in the file menu, three or four options down.
