Here's a little 5/4 tune Oren and I did a few years ago using Powertracks.
It was fun

Wild audio recording

Guitars - mostly Oren, I did one solo on the left side in the call/answer section
Drums are Forte
Bass is Forte (I really should do it with a live bass for fun)
Keys are Forte also including piano.
We called it wild because it changes so often. If you don't like a section, just give it a minute..

Great work on the guitar. It's amazing that it is mostly midi. To my ears it would make a good movie soundtrack, I am thinking Cop drama. Thanks 4 sharing!

Good stuff! I've always enjoyed a good 5/4 song. You guys nailed it.

Mostly a lot of fun went into it, if I remember correctly.
I think all guitars (Orens and mine) are thru digitech multi-effects.

This is clearly very creative in terms of both execution and choice of sound.

To be honest, I don't like it - I just can't get on with the time signature.

But this just exposes my own limits as a listener and is not meant as a reflection on the piece itself.

Thanks for posting guys

I appreciate that input too Marc.
We had a lot of fun doing it, maybe that says something about us. It took me a while to get used to it (and I wrote it). I kept coming back to it and eventually sent it to Oren as an idea. He made it all become a unit. He has a way of doing that.
Thanks for listening and commenting.

I should probably let Oren know I posted this..

Had to have another listen today, the mastering is great! Oren's guitar playing is a perfect fit! Move over Thunder Lizard, time for a new fav.

Oren did a great job; pulled back when it needed it and pushed it when it was lacking.
I still hear mix issues I'd like to improve on, but as I said before; it was a lot of fun. That's why I keep coming back to it.
Wish Oren would peek in. He really made a lot of difference on this one.

So, the story is that Bob was having fun, and a certain Canadian was scrambling for dear life...

Working with "rharv" is somewhat like sleeping with an elephant - you're nice and warm and nobody is going to mess with you, but if it turns over or moves the wrong way, you're toast. Or that's the way it sometimes felt. (wouldn't have it any other way...)

Seems to me we had a percussionist called "drumdude" lay down a track later on in the production? Fine drummer, that one.

Anyway, back in the day, you lay down as much riffage as possible, then send it off to Bob, and he makes you sound like a frickin' genius.

Good times!

Seems I have a whole swath of Tommy Cole guitar tunes bookmarked on my music playback (solid-state drive, no fans) computer...

I think the point of this section is to showcase music produced on PG Music software. I do still have a hard-drive with a windows operating system, and my favourite version of PowerTracks Pro installed. Could be fun to concoct some six-string stew with that rig...
Could be even more fun if Mr. Cole contributed some riffs.

There is some mastering I need to complete before embarking on anything new, but consider the fire well lit.

Gimmee 6 weeks or so and I'd like to have some fun too.
I decided to finish my degree this semester (stopped accepting any mastering jobs until mid-May), and then landed a nice job that has promoted me twice since November .. so with school and work I'm very busy right now. It's a cool job; I get to do web development (department head) shoot videos for clients, head up emarketing department and have access to an awesome sound system/studio setting. They have more $ tied up in this sound system and room than most serious studios do. Don't even get me started on their collection of digital and analog reference material..

Life is good
but hectic right now

Glad to hear you pulled it off - the career change, I mean! There'll be plenty of time for play when you've got it all sorted.

Yep, he kept up with the odd tempo and all .. but now you have spoken his name.. what may/may not occur is NOT my fault.

That version is stored here though. Just didn't use it.
