At the risk of being tarred and feathered again: First century historian, Josephus, recorded that the method of execution at the time was an upright stake so Jesus was put to death on a staros or upright stake. In Greek, a crux simplex. So trace the veneration of the cross back to its origin and you will find it steeped in pagan Babylonian practices long before Christianity. The early "Church" adopted most of it's trappings from non-Christian Babylon. Hellfire, the Trinity Doctrine, Immortality of the soul, ad infinitum. Nobody has greater appreciation for Jesus' sacrifice than I however, I won't use this forum to perpetuate falsehoods as you have done.
