I have all of the styles included in biab 2012. I'm looking for a guitar style that is similar to "brighter than the sun" by colbie caillat. Is there such a style available? And more importantly, what is the best technique for locating a style once you have a style in your head that you want? Please give specifics as I am somewhat new to biab.

Thanks for your help!!!

(Crtl F9) Try the search feature in the StylePicker dialog, you can repeat the search by clicking the "G" button right beside it. You may need to be less song and Artist specific, I searched that and didn't get a result.

The stylepicker window continues to be one of the weakest areas in BIAB, in my opinion. The new text filter helps a lot, but we still need a much more flexible way to organize styles by genres, subgenres, instruments, tipical songs, allow user coments, organization, implement drag&drop, etc, etc, etc. With thousands of styles at your disposal, searching for a specific pattern on an specific instrument is often a frustrating task to me, even if I know for sure that it's there. With so many styles I often feel I'm mising the "right" one, and that I'm not using the program at its full potential.

Thank you all for you response!!!

I think Cerio hit it on the head. What I'm looking for is more of a pattern (groove?) than a "style". Today's "Adult Contemporay" style/genre (my favorite) is so diverse it seems very difficult to find a particular pattern based on that style. My impression is that maybe styles would more specific if they were associated with or named after a particular artist.

My computer is a little on the slow side. It takes so long to load a style and play it, that it seems impractical when I'm just looking for a specific guitar pattern. What I've resorted to is going to the c:\bb\RealTracks folder and from there going to the guitar folders and playing the approriate wma files to find one that fits the pattern. So far I haven't found one. Probably it doesn't exist.

Are there any other folders that contain guitar patterns that biab uses in styles? It looks like I'll need to lay down my own track.

Thanks again!!!

Are you looking for more of a loop thing, I used RB to make a bunch groove songs this way. Here is a link to several I did with loops and Instruments from Biab.

Thanks Tommy. Your music sounds pretty cool. Was the percusion voicing done inside of RB or did it come from a synth or what? They sound high quality.

Anyway, I'm looking more for guitar groove rather than percusion groove. I've just done a few things in BB and I haven't even touched RB. I'm not even sure which one I would use where. I guess I better start looking at some tutorials.

Thanks again!

Percussion was loops, but any kind of loops will work. I start a song in Biab and move it to RB to edit, it is a DAW. You can make your own loops there from Biab tracks, some people do it all in RB but I'm unfamiliar with song creation there. It has great transposing ability so your loops can change pitch with the song. Almost any topic can be searched for a quick answer at the top of the page in search forum.
