I would say any used laptop three year old or newer would be able to use the 'Fast Generation of Realtracks' option with no problem. Without that ability, RealTracks can take quite a while to generate. There are ways to speed that up such as converting RT/RDs to WAV and using +/- files where available. But any reasonably new laptop should be able to use the 'Fast...' option. And 'Freezing' the RTs speeds it up even more.

I have a 2008 cheapie Wal-Mart Toshiba Satellite L45 that has no problem - 2GB memory, Intel T2080 CPU and 5400 RPM 80 GB drive. With RDs and 2 RTs, start time is less than 3 seconds.
