Hi i listened to a couple of your songs and it really sounds good. You sound a lot like a guy that lives here in Butte Montana, his name is "Andy Larson" He is a local musician. Yes, it is the Andy Larson that used to play on a professional football team, he got hurt at one time and that is why he had to stop playing. But anyhow this sounds absolutely wonderful. Did you create the whole song with BIAB? If you did, I can use some pointers. I want to do my own album with it in the future. I have BIAB 2011.5 did you use the melodist to create this, I understand a few things about chord progressions and am learning more everyday. When I create my songs, I use a chord wheel to assist me. I can come up with some pretty good stuff, but I do have a bit of a problem coming up with lyrics and a melody for them once I do have them written. Any suggestions? Any little tid bit of information would be very helpful.. Thanks Bob Pidgeon Butte, Montana

Music is an expression that is a universal language, Never criticize anybody to harshly. They need time to grow but when they do, they do. Always be kind in what you say and do because the man upstairs is watching.

Hi Paul,

I really like the overall sound that you've captured with this song. It's professional quality to my ears.

All the best,
Noel

We are all learning… with that said it’s a great time to be making music…. Finally the software tools have caught up to the creative process.. This is my work flow..not saying it is a good one.. but it seems to do the job for me…

Step (1): These days I write the initial song using EZkeys. It allows me to access the circle of fifths during the melody fleshing out process…. During this step I also have another application open.. called Masterwriter 2.0 That software allows me to find song topics.. as well as rhymes and syllable matched phrases. It’s a writers dream.

Step (2): Once the melody and basic chord set has been hacked through… I then bring the midi file into BB. I’m not a BB expert….I just want the chord patterns in BB so once there I get rid of the midi file. Then I load a varity of Real Tracks …trying to find that sound in my head for whatever instrument I’m looking for…bass, organ.. guitar. I never stay in one style of a song… most of the time I’m all over the place in styles….lol I drop each style to a .wave separate track file..

Step (3) I then fire up Protools 10 and bring all that data in. Midi piano part, BB wave tracks.. and start the mix production process… Adding effects, compression…etc…

Step (4) I then add the vocal tracks using Protools 10 and put effects on the vocals.

Step (5) At this point if the song is not as rich sounding as I wanted I start using the virtual instruments built into protools and adding additional midi parts… Sometimes self generated and sometimes BB midi parts.

Step (6) I do a .wav bounce to create a master mix and I do a .mp3 bounce to create my reverbnation post.

Paul,

The other night the link was dead.

I just tried FF, Chrome and I.E. none would work.

Reverbnation song number search did not find.

But did find performer Paul Bright.

I enjoyed the song. Subject alone brings
back personal memories.

This went to correct page, scrolling down is your newest song.
