I have not been able to isolate the mandolin solo (or the guitar solo from another part).
They only appear in the combo.
Not in any of the individual tracks.
The solos are generated from RTs defined in the substyles. For example, the solo mandolin is RT 436, defined for the drum part in _BGMEDL4.STY. Load that style, open stylemaker, click Misc=>More=>pull down the "Instrument" control, and you'll see the assignments for each part.
If you want to isolate the solo, then, as probably you know, you can use the soloist or real track picker to generate a solo with that RT, then freeze/save as a wav file for further use.
