I should have listened to rharv. Sometime back we were talking about DAW's and he was trying to convince me to just stick with RB and forget the others. I think we were discussing Reaper at the time and I was asking about Mixcraft. We use a few karaoke mp3's for backups sometimes and they may need length and key change adjustments. For whatever reason I thought that a DAW other than RB would be better----not.

I just spent probably 6 hours trying to figure out how to make 1 key change in an mp3 using Mixcraft (paid version). I finally got it to change the section that I needed, but it changed the previous section as well. I already knew how to do it in RB but was hoping to learn more about Mixcraft. I never could get it to work even after reading the help a bunch of times which says that you can have multiple key changes in a song. In RB it's very easy; Just select the section you want to change, right click and select time and pitch change from the drop down menu, pick the number of semitones (+ or - ), save to a .wav file and you're done. I use another pgm to convert from .wav to mp3. The grass is always greener....ad nauseum.. I'm ready to forget Mixcraft and my $75.
