I've been using PowerTracks for about nine years now, but I've recently encountered some odd things when attempting to share some of my own music compositions that I recorded in PowerTracks with some friends.

Basically, I'll send them a song via email, but when they attempt to open it, they'll get a message that states that it's copy protected. When I right-click on the file and look at the properties, sure enough it says "protected." What the heck?!? I don't recall ever setting that--or even seeing it as an option in the first place. (The files are in WAV format.)

It's even happened to me recently when my computer at work was "upgraded" from Windows XP to Windows 7, and all the music I had on my computer had to be reauthorized or something. What's really odd is that I had no problem with any of the songs that came from other artists whose songs I had ripped from my cd collection, but my OWN music. . . well, that was a different story. I had to go out to Microsoft's website and download a special license to do that. It was really bizarre.

Has anyone else had these issues? How on earth do I remove this "copy protection" from my own songs? Heck, *I'M* the copyright owner of those!
