This one I really like. It's not free though. I registered for $39 for one year access. What's cool? You get access to, downloads, and use of several programs. Video creators/editors/converters. Audio editors, recorders, converters. And more. Even some windows utilities, like a register clean-up program. Until March 1 they have a special $10 off on the registration, $39 versus $49. And you can also register for unlimited time for $59, which appears to be a huge discount special. It's really cool, people. The audio editor, for example, lets you view, edit, record, etc. your audio. Zoom, effects, even plug-ins from BIAB and other programs are accessed. Spectral view. And much much more. Save in various formats, sample rates, bit rates, stereo, mono, etc. The video softwares are really cool if you want to create, edit, alter, resize, add effects, sound, whatever, to videos. Yesterday I finished one to put on YouTube. You can check out the video on my signature link below if you want: BT Music blog, or here on YouTube: My Video on YouTubeit's posted on top of the page. It was quick and easy to make, even for a beginner to the program. I started with one of my old videos I made a couple years ago, the space cat, LOL, and after that I used some PD videos for the backgrounds, creative commons sources. Added one of my songs. Added some text and effects. If you want to make some music videos of your own, or whatever, this it great, IMO. go to AVS4YOU website

I`m sure it`s a good deal for you Blue, but isn`t there Freeware out there for all kinds of purposes (audio-video editing, converters, etc)?

Maybe. The post is just my opinion, and it is up to the individuals here to decide if they want it or not. At least they have the free option to check it out and see if it's for them or not. It obviously isn't your cup of tea. Show me the freeware that does everything these programs do. Video/audio all in one package. With all the features that are available from these. I've tried quite a few of them myself in the past.
As for the price, at a little over $3.30 a month, for what I'm getting, I consider it cheap-ware, or coffee-cup-ware, two-gallons-of-Texas-gas-ware, one-pack-of-smokes-ware. LOL And it will be even cheaper if I register for unlimited use. I registered for 1 year because I wanted to test drive everything first, and do some video/audio work without water marks, etc. And one year from now something better may come along. Always new stuff emerging on the internet.
If I'm serious about doing audio/video work, I certainly don't consider this small an inverstment very significant overhead. For example: many if not most serious video producers use Camtasia, about $300 or so. What do you think? How much did you spend for movies last year, last month? LOL

I didn`t say it`s not my cup of tea. I read plenty of computer magazines and there is always much freeware on the delivered CD, so I was just wondering. But as I said (and I did Not mean that sarcastically): I think it`s a good deal for you.

It depends on what you need to do, Sandra. For example no freebies I'm aware of will edit quicktime mov files on a PC, the best you can do is get one that will convert mov to avi but it degrades the video. Virtualdub works with some formats but not others, lots of other examples.

I've looked at and used lots of freeware programs over the years. Trouble with the freeware stuff is, it takes quite a few to get all the features you might want or need. And you won't get some at all, that are available in the paid programs. For example: show me the freeware stuff that does what BIAB or RealBand does. grin
This site has dozens of software programs that do a multitude of things related to audio and video. And for one registration they are ALL available for your use, not just one.
I thought it a good deal. But that's my opinion. I just wanted to let others know, in case, like me, they never saw it before. They are all free downloads to try. But with some limitations, until you register. So give them a shot and see if they are suitable for your needs. If you don't need them, don't get them, and stick with your freeware stuff. I found them very useful and opted to register. For example: download the AVS audio editor and see all the features, and compare with your freeware stuff. BTW many magazines are on a downward spiral too, thanks to the internet. lol

I like it. Just in the last few weeks I have gotten into some more advanced video editing. I've been using VirtualDub for some time and it's pretty good but limited. I just downloaded the demo of Sony Vegas Movie Studio and the full version costs $129. The video editor on this site looks just as good if not better for a lot less plus the other things look pretty interesting too. I'm going for it and see how it compares. Thanks for posting this.
