Really? How come BIAB can do it?
I don't have any midi hardware hooked up, and the MIDI DRV button shows me the 2 Windows default things that I can't deselect.
Thoughts?
I FINALLY open RB and .......... :-/

If the message says ASIO and MIDI in the same window like that, that's weird.
Try going to Audio tab and selecting MME instead of ASIO.
Better yet tell us what ASIO driver you are using in BiaB, likely the same one will work in RB; more likely a different ASIO device is selected in RB compared to BiaB
Also possible something else used the ASIO driver and didn't release it ... or you have another program 'claiming' the ASIO driver and it isn't available ... or
lots of possibilities; give us more info to work with.
Which drivers are selected in the MIDI drivers window?
Which are available?
Same for the audio drivers window under both ASIO and MME if possible.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Sorry....I diligently posted my computer specs, all the way down blood type and favorite color in the BIAB post and completely forgot it here....
Turion 64x2 TL-58, 4gb Ram, W7-64bit, O positive, Green (sometimes Blue)
ASIO4All v2.1 beta
2k plus on the geekbench.
So SINCE then I plugged in my Tascam us122mkii and chose THAT driver and it works. But .... Its a little crackally .... I'm thinkin I've pushed this couple year old lappy passed its reliable safe zone. I'm thinkin about reloading (again...sigh....workin on the desktop lately too :-/ ) in W7/32 bit & see if things don't even out a bit.
Plus.....I just lost a good hour of fiddling with an RB seq. GOt a non-fatal memory extention error.....music stopped...hmmmmm. Saved, closed, won't reopen. Invalid data.
Weird.

Hi,
Crackly playback is usually very easy to fix. When you're in the ASIO Audio Drivers window, keep the Tascam selected, and click on the "ASIO Driver's Control Panel" button. The controls for the Tascam's driver will appear, you just need to find the setting marked "latency" or "buffer size" and increase it until the crackles go away. It sometimes takes some trial and error to get this right, you basically want to get the buffer size as low as it can go without hearing audio artifacts.

Thx....its gonna be so high I wont be able to use the ASIO monitoring....which is fine...I have other methods.
Gonna reload to 32bit.....gotta make it better.
