Hi,
Crackly playback is usually very easy to fix. When you're in the ASIO Audio Drivers window, keep the Tascam selected, and click on the "ASIO Driver's Control Panel" button. The controls for the Tascam's driver will appear, you just need to find the setting marked "latency" or "buffer size" and increase it until the crackles go away. It sometimes takes some trial and error to get this right, you basically want to get the buffer size as low as it can go without hearing audio artifacts.
