Heres my most recent original. I've been working on it for the last couple of weeks.

This is another attempt at using a simple repetitive chord progression. The lyrics were inspired by a guitar student/friend of mine who lost his wife a little over a year ago, we were having a talk awhile back on what was an especially hard day for him (I believe it was her birthday) and the lyrics were inspired from that conversation.

The song is all RT's except for a midi piano and some midi ensemble strings (first time I've used those!)
My Tele also has a track on the verses & the lick at the end. The solo is Brent Mason;)

Hope you enjoy. All comments welcome.

Greg

A Song For You

When I look I see tears in your eyes
Don’t let the sadness rule you life
There’s a pain that seems can never end
But I promise your heart will one day mend

Cause there’s a love for you that’s waiting here
It will end all your pain and your fear
Yes there’s a love for you that’s waiting here
It’s the way to wash away your tears

Your love now has gone and it’s broken your heart
But the memories remain
A part of you they will always be
Don’t fear what’s ahead it might be just what you need

Cause there’s a love for you that’s waiting here
It will end all your pain and your fear
Yes there’s a love for you that’s waiting here
It’s the way to wash away your tears

What doesn’t destroy you always makes you stronger

What doesn’t destroy you always makes you stronger

What doesn’t destroy you always makes you stronger

Hi Greg,

Do you know that the link to your song takes you to your site but you have to pay 79 pence to hear it...
Please amend as you wont get many people to listen if you have to pay first.

Just sayin'

Best regards
George

George,

You should just be able to click on the left arrow > of the page that pops up to play without purchasing (downloading). That should pop up a separate window that has the player. I just checked it and had no problems.
Let me know if that doesn't work.

Greg, I really enjoyed this, especially the vocal performance and the extremely strong chorus melody. The 'Doesn't destroy you...' fade is a great touch. A worthy song in many respects - your friend must be pleased.

The ony detraction for me, and it's a personal foible, is I really don't like the sound of the RTs drum kits. But as I said, that's just me!

Hey John,

Thank you so much. And thanks for commenting... I haven't got much feedback on this one.
I know what you mean about the RD's... I like them, but I wish I had more control over various parts of the drum kit. I'd like to be able to adjust levels on cymbals, snare, kick, etc.

Hi Greg,

I must have had a brain phart

I managed to click on the player and heard your song.

I think it was very good.
Your voice reminds me a little of Mr Cash.

Keep em' comin'

Terrific chorus! Great song all round. Strong vocals too - and I love the harmonies. One thing - I think a different drum pattern in the chorus might help a little.

I totally agree with Skyline. This is what I rate as "very listenable"! The individual sounds are well balanced and, together, create a very professional overall sound.

A great listen,
Noel
