I purchases some Jazz Exercises from Matt Otten (many of you may have already heard of him). One of the exercises/songs in the package (Chapter 4, Bossa #3) like all the others, comes with an mp3 file with the solo, an mp3 file with justthe backing, a pdf file for the guitar TABs, and a .mid file for the midi version. One of the easiest way for me to learn the solos is to open the midi file in BIAB and watch the guitar TABs on the fretboard along with the TABs while I play (BTW, I learned also that I need to make sure I have the guitar part in 6 channels so the guitar fretboard correctly shows all the finger positions). Most of the exercises so far open OK, but a few (like the Bossa #3) opens but everything shows up wrong! i.e. the chords don't match what's on the pdf TABs, and most importantly... only 16 of the 52 bars are showing up and the whole thing is really a mess. At first, I figure the midi file must be screwed up, but when I play the mid file with my Windows Media Player, the thing sounds all right...

So what gives? Is it a wrong setting I may have in BIAB? I tried to fiddle around with some of the options/preferances but can't see anything helpful so far.

[Also, if I don't find a matching style to the supplied backtrack, is there a way (how?) to import the mp3 file for the backtrack as an audio, and put it in one of the melody/solo channels to have everything playing in BIAB.... synchronized and all?]

I'd appreciate any help in advance.

Dick
