Just got a Behringer Xenyx 502 mic preamp.
Do I understand correctly that I run the mixer's Main Outs into my soundcard Ins?
But this doesn't allow for monitoring in the Phones outpu the mix of both the PT playback and mic vocal.
Should I take this mixer back and get another type or a bigger one?
Windows 7; BB2009; PTv12; Yamaha Portable Grand piano YPG535; E-MU 0404 soundcard & PatchMix DSP Mixer software; Shure PG58 microphone; Behringer Xenyx 802 mic preamp mixer

Send the soundcard output to the 'tape in' of the mixer and you'll have a mix

Can I then use go from the Main Outs directly to the monitor speakers?

Try it, but keep the mic channel turned down when the speakers are on

One issue with the 502 is that it does not ahve the control room setup that the 802 does, so you have to use the phones out to the speakers as well as the headphones. Guys, I have a Behringer UB802 but I use the "Stereo Aux Return" and "FX Send" to achieve the same thing.

I did that to start with Charlie, but for some reason this is easier and works better for me. But there is always another way to skin that darned ol' cat!
