And only one chord appears!?
Here is the format of the song, same sequence of chords repeats seven times: *

All I want to do is repeat the last line, the last four bars. But when I place the cursor at the beginning of the ending, and insert four bars, this is what I get:

It didn't insert anything. All it did was type in one Em after the ending.
OK, I'm lost. How do I do this.
Note: BiaB Ver. 2012. Thanks.
* This is a cover of an existing song.

Try adding four more bars before you instert the 4 chords. I.e., if your ending is on bar 33 change that to bar 37. Then try inserting the four bars with chords you want at bar 33.
Good Luck,

Or add four bars to the Tag, if you are using one, first.

Both the above and try laying it flat as one whole run through (i.e. without the repeats) and add the extra bars at the end there.
Whatever you do, remember that the song finishes at the bar number that you have told it to (plus the two bar ending of course)

Based on your screen shot, it appears that:
(A) Your song has an intro at bars 1 to 16, and the song has 7 BBW choruses Bar for beginning of Chorus = [17], Bar for Ending of Chorus = [32] Number of Choruses = [7]
or
B) Your song is set for one chorus Bar for beginning of Chorus = [1], Bar for Ending of Chorus = [32] Number of Choruses = [1] Standard repeat (7X) for bars 17 to 32
but you did not select the 'Generate (Insert) bars' option when making the repeat (because the bar after bar 32 would then be 129 and your screen shot shows 33).
IF YOUR SONG is scenario (A), and you want variations between choruses (dependent on style and song settings), you wont get the variations when you unfold. So if Scenario (A) fits and you want to use the tag and choruses options, then
Click in bar 33, Edit/Insert 4 bars. Click back in bar 33, copy previous 4 bars using the key combination k4 (press k, then 4). Reset the 'Bar for Ending of Chorus' (now reads 36) to [32]. Then, go in Song Settings (Click the [S] button next to Memo). Select Tag Exists, Set 'Tag jump after bar number' to 32, Set 'Tag Begin at Bar Number' to 33, Set 'Tag Ends After Bar #' to 36. This will insert the Tag ending and will read correctly.
If you decide you need a longer tag, just insert or append the bars in the tag area where you want them and BB will auto adjust the tag ending for you.
IF YOUR SONG IS SCENARIO (B), one chorus with a basic repeat of 7X, then
Enter your song (as you did), then
Make sure the
'Number of Choruses' is set to [1]],
'Bar for Ending of Chorus = [36], 'enter the four bars with the chords, then Delete the Repeat (of 7x), Select bars 17 thru 32, and make the repeat (ensuring you select the 'Generate (Insert) bars option in the repeat.
Sorry about not providing screen shots...I am not on my BBW system.
Hope this is of use,
Richard

Yes, sort of.
However, I don't want to lose the "chorus turnover change" if I unfold.
Every verse will then sound exactly the same. True?

OK, Matt, I think I follow. You mean make the Ending four bars longer?
I believe I have tried that once or twice before and was also unsuccessful.

I tried what I think you're describing Danny. I entered that the song ended at Bar 37 but it moved everything around and eliminated the Intro.
Since there is no Nationals game on tonight (day game today) I'll try and re-create and post what happens.
Thanks.

Because I did not use the Repeat command. BiaB defaults to creating every song with three run-throughs of the "chorus." On the # of Choruses button I just selected "7" instead of the default 3 and there ya go.
The Intro was created with the Insert Intro command. It only allows for four bars, but I lengthened it to 16.

Exactly! Like I said above.

OK, Richard, I'll give it a shot, thanks.
But, boy, doesn't that sound extremely complicated for just adding four bars to a song?
I guess I have a new wishlist item.
Or maybe, PGM will let me be a Beta tester some day. - Mark

Sorry, no it didn't work.
Typing "k, then 4" did nothing so there was no need to change bar ending from 36 to 32.
This really, really, shouldn't be so complicated to just add four bars to a song.

AH! Will at PG Support told me how to do it!
It's called a TAG ending. (How the heck should I know ... I just call it repeating the last line.)
Go to Song Settings and enter the bar numbers.
That's it! I knew it had to be pretty simple.
Thanks to everyone though for being willing to help. Appreciate it.
Oh. The song, by the way is "Death Don't Have No Mercy."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverend_Gary_Davis

Tag was mentioned in the third post, and rich in ca gave the steps.
Glad you have it now.

Danny,
Glad you got it done. The procedure I mentioned (using the key combination of k4) to copy the previous 4 (or any number of bars you want) was primarily to show you a simple way way to copy previous bars in addition to the tag. It sounds complicated, but once you use this a few times, it's pretty intuitive. With just 4 bars, no big deal to re-enter, but if you had several chords (and you were using chords with pushes, rests, shots, etc., you may not want to have to re-enter those. And, if you do insert bars (separate from the tag), you will have to readjust the other 1st and ending bar settings as in scenario (A).
Have fun! BB really cooks and I'm still discovering things in it (using BBW since version 2004). As you've seen, this forum is a great learning ground.
Thanks to Matt and others their regular input to this forum.
Richard

Matt,
Seeing as how you live in the Hudson Valley, you know you're a special friend. But "add four bars to the Tag, if you are using one, first." doesn't really say very much if one does not know what "Tag" is referring to.
And though I appreciate Rich's post very much, those are not the steps for adding a tag, as I just learned.
All one needs to do to add a Tag is to go to Edit - Song Settings.
Thanks again to all, - Mark former ten-year resident of Dutchess County, NY

Hi Mark. Yes, I remember that, and the Hudson Valley is very special. Thanks.
I do apologize for making the assumption that you've used the program long enough to know what a Tag is, or know how to look it up in the Help menu or in the FAQ (#27). I'm sorry. Even with my error, Rich in CA deserves credit because he gave you 'Edit, Song Settings' in his first post, correctly describing how to add a Tag.
Best wishes, and I'm glad you're all set now.

I've been using BiaB intermittently for over nine years! More so since Real Tracks. Everyone has their own areas of experience and expertise. And you know what they say about people who assume.
PS: I also taught at DCC many years ago.
And, if I wished, I could also make fun of people on the 'Net who, for example, don't know how to spell: "and is a principle {sic} user of the Music Performance Funds"
