I thought I had already posted this but don't see it in the posts now...hmmm, maybe old age.
I am looking for a Clapton-esque style or a least a drum style that is suited for doing a cover of "Wonderful Tonight". The tune has a distinct 4/4 signature that sound more like a 2/4 because of the drum beat. High hat plays on 8ths with a random 16th thrown in. The snare plays on the 3 beat of the measure.
In my unique drumming vernacular (I am not a drummer) that would sound like ch/ch/ch/ch/pop/ch/ch/ch.
1 2 3 4
I can find a drum style that seems to match. Any ideas or ways to create this? Can I "tweak" a drum style to accomplish this. I can think of other tunes in which the drum beat characterizes the overall feel of the song.
