I listen to Pandora a lot at work, and every time I hear the Caribbean Jazz Project, I swear I'm hearing your Flugelhorn! Have you ever heard of their song 'Picture Frame?' It's off their "Afro Bop Alliance" album. I keep thinking, for a second, anyway, that you've released a new album. Well, one can hope, anyway. Gary

Thank you, Gary. I will check that song out. If it is who I think it is, your temporary confusion makes sense!

Matt, From Wiki. Quote:
The third version of CJP that continues to the present and includes trumpet and flugelhorn specialist, Diego Urcola along with pianist, Dario Eskenazi, bassist Oscar Stagnaro, drummer Mark Walker and percussionist Roberto Quintero. In this makeup, CJP toured with singer Diane Schuur and teamed to produce the singer's 2005 release Schuur Fire.

Yep, that's who I thought. Thanks, that is a nice compliment.

Pretty good, Trax. Haven't done a whole lot of music production in the last year or so, but that's okay. I still play when I can. Just not a lot of time for anything any more. I am thinking about investing in a new Korg PA3X, though. Of course, then I looked at the price. OMG! I'm wondering if I can get someone to buy all my old keyboards all at once, then I might almost have enough money. We'll see. If I buy it, I'll post some stuff from it. Gary

I didn't check that keyboard out Gary, it's maybe an arranger thing that crosses what biab does with new technology. I play a lot of background stuff, standards, ...Can't help loving that man, Fly me to the moon, etc. Some hotels, their bars, their check in place. (Did that on weekends for a long time.) I also play for masonic stuff, Shrine stuff, and various flute players and or singers. I bought a Korg Ps60. Won't break the bank but it sounds great. A bit fiddly with the knobs, but I've got most of it down Pat, or Bill, or Jane eh? I love the sounds. I have played organs all over. I'm terrible at it, but learned not to mess with the pedals too much. I often hide my stuff behind the actual organ in the corner for lodge meetings, where the music runs more to early hymns and up from there. Band in a Box is a great tool to get the thing down and in place first. Go from there. So my folders may have Purcell's When I am Laid, and Mozarts water music, but anthems and stuff are hidden there. Great keyboard, great soundbanks, and flexible. In a {nut shell], where the nut is me. Not to worry. Smile. The afore-mentioned was part of Charlie Chaplain's work. Fun to mess with, minor thirds abound. Someday I'll post my funked up version of that at 65 bpm. It seemed at noon that the key of fa was up a couple of goals. That got the best of me after a half hour. ::)... What, live ever eh? LOVLROTC = Laughtin out Very Loud, Rolling on the carpet. Might happen.

John, PS60 or the PA60? Right now, I have both a PA80 and a PA800. The PA3X is the next evolution of the Professional Arranger series.
I do use BIAB when I'm recording stuff, along with the sounds from the keyboard, but when I just want to sit down and play, nothing beats the Korg PA series, although the Yamaha Tyros runs at the same level. I haven't really listened to the Roland stuff in a long time, probably should, but in the 'pro' arranger market (is that an oxymoron, or what?) Tyros and the PA series are at the pinnacle, from what I've seen.
I'd never even be able to get what's available even out of the PA80, there is so much to these keyboards, and capability that's beyond my capability to utilize, at least without doing a three semester college level course, but every few years, I want the latest and greatest.
It costs me. . .LOTS!
Gary
