Mine came from a 3 store chain in Columbus Ohio called ReTagIt Stores. It's a consignment shop. Also watch Craigslist.

Now I need to find a place with cagenuts for the rack screws. This did not have threaded rack channel, just rails with holes. There were 40 cagenuts on it and I went through them quickly. Everyplace I look for them wants me to buy in such bulk I need to get police clearance for the semi to come down my street. I only want like 40 more.....

I searched for "server rack" and "server cabinet".

Be careful with any old foam. You need material that has "broadband absorption" (highs, mids and lows) properties. Standard foam might just absorb the highs -- which will leave you a gawd-awful sound. The number one technical issue I hear in your songs, Eddie, are those boxy, reverby vocals. That's your room coming through loud and clear.

Actually that is too much Midiverb. Those vocals are always done behind my gobo and it is DEAD in there. I used to always use WAY too much reverb to try and get some thickness in my voice. Old school thinking before I started to say "The heck with it" and "This is my voice. Like it or not." The next batch should sound more natural.

Still waiting for the Sinatra plug-in though....

Take a look at Ethan Winer's site for acoustic treatment. http://www.ethanwiner.com/acoustics.html

I made some bass traps for a problem room which worked fine. Normaly bass traps alone will tame a room enough to get good sounds. Any furniture and fittings will take care of the distribution/deflection of the highs.

Bear in mind that there is no perfect room. Some are bright, some are dull, some are just right for the sound you're looking for. The bottom line is that you don't need to spend a fortune to get a good effect. Studios and concert halls have to cater for all types of sounds, whereas the home studio can be tailored to your own sound cheaply.

Egg cartons don't work, and most foam products are not very effective over a large range.
A great plus with high density mineral wool (Rockwool, Isover..etc.) is that it in flameproof!

Impressive Eddie. When might we be able to hear some of your output?

Exactly

I guess its just a case of Margaritaville. At least, it seems to be in my case.

I was 10.5 weeks in rehab. Loved every single minute of it. Had to get back home and face reality. I guess, its my own damned fault. Was I an alcoholic? No. But I might become one. I hit in there for a bit of r&r. Trouble is, you have to face reality again....

Sorry folks if some (if not all) of my comments at the moment sound a bit cynical but I'm not having an easy time at the moment. No excuse, I know. Apologies all the same - please bear with me or ignore me. Your call

I love music. I am music. I wanna be with music. I wanna spend all my time with music but... NO. I have to spend all my wasted time chasing medical appointments and fighting for survival. My apologies.

Yeah, I know. Its my own damned fault

Dang, Eddie... if you sold all that stuff you could retire!

But... then what would you do with all that retirement time on your hands?
