I had a keyboard, I don't remember which one.
12th floor.
Worked odd hours, slept odd hours.
3 am. I put on the headphones and played my keyboard for 3 hours.
Next day the super said the guy below was up all night because he heard dum dum dummity dum dum dum all night.
I had the headphones on but the keyboard was on the rug, and he was right below.
That ended the nocturnal messing with Satie at 3 a.m. Dang.
I needed a floating keyboard, coming soon.

I made one with 2 scrap doors from Craigslist and a couple of moving blankets. And I can bend mine like how a folding closet door works and lean it against the wall when I am not using it.

In my house I have a hall way right off the room where my musical equipment is that when all doors to that hall are close makes an excellent dead space for recording.
Gets very hot in that hall when recording during the summer though.

Reminds me of our neighbour who had a grand piano in his living room. He had a girlfriend who stayed over quite often, and one night we heard what sounded like the bed headboard coming into contact with the wall or the heating system in a steady rhythm. I was mightily impressed by his stamina until I found out that she had gone home early and he was playing his new keyboard in the bedroom via earphones. dum dum dummity dum dum dum

Gotta be honest, if I am paying $300 for something, it better stay overnight and make breakfast in the morning....
Mine was free. Cost me exactly 30 minutes of my time.
And my pop filter was 89 cents. Embroidery hoop, old pantyhose (where they came from is in sealed records), clip and gooseneck from a clip on lamp I got at the flea market. Works as well as the $40 one at Guitar Center....
Put some of the creativity you display in your songs into things like this and make yoru own!

More than a few times, I have put on headphones to play the keyboard, so as not to interfere with the TV.
My wife would let me play on for a while and then ask, "why I was wearing headphones that weren't plugged in?"
