Hello,
Since a great many country songs end and ring out on the 3rd beat rather than the 1st I've been trying to accomplish this in BIAB 2012 with the _CTRYSWS real style, but with no success. I want exactly the same thing that currently occurs on the 1st beat of an automatic ending to happen on the 3rd instead. I've tried all kinds of things from using the various triple-dot techniques discussed on the various Internet forums to inserting an extra 2-beat bar just before the ending. None of these techniques provide a nice clean ring out like the one that occurs on beat 1. It either ends abruptly or the instruments keep on playing. If anyone has gotten this to work as well as the automatic ending on the 1st beat I would very much appreciate hearing how.
Thanks, Ray

While not exactly a BIAB technique, you could Drag or open the song in the Realband (the program that comes free with BIAB)and just edit out the extra notes. Lots of handy features in Realband (can generate over 40 tracks, cut and paste sections, etc) that might get you what you are looking for. Best wishes, Carkins

THIS may help. I've found that the custom endings rarely sound as good as the automatic endings. This is mostly due to the sound of the holds in both RealTracks and RealDrums - however a Midi hold sounds fine.

I'm not sure exactly what sound you are looking for, but I just did this with that style: Made a four measure song ending with chords |Dm7 |G7 |C |C C |. The last C is on the third beat of measure 4. Then in Chord Setting for bar 4 beat 3 I tried both a Shot and Hold. Both sounded OK to me. (btw, also went to Song Setting and unchecked "Generate 2-bar....".)
What do you think?

Carkins,
Thanks for the suggestion. In BIAB I merely inserted an extra bar just before the ending, which caused the song to end an entire bar late. I then imported it into RealBand and merely edited out two beats from that extra bar, thereby causing the song to end cleanly on the third beat of the previous bar. Although this worked perfectly I consider it to be a real hack that should not be necessary since so many songs end on the third beat. I would have hoped that this would have been a choice in BIAB itself.
Ray
