What is causing real tracks to substitue a D7th chord when it's written as D, and song is marked as 'force to simple - non-embellished'?

Some of the blues styles are based on Dominant 7th chords, is it one of those?

I think the question is , what is the RT? Personnally i don't think it has to do with styles - since I am of the BIAB school which belives Styles effect Midi only and RT's don't give a hoot about what style is selected. I know, there are other schools of thought on this.
But a jazz RT would likely distinquish between a Major and dominate chord, but a blues RT may feel comfortable substituting the two. So what is the RT?

Hi limestone, Try this and see if it helps ... Right-click on the Chord Sheet and choose "Song Settings". The below dialogue box will pop-up. Add a check to "Force simple arrangement" (highlighted below)  Regards, Noel

Welcome to the forum, limestone.
From the above answers, I think you can conclude we are not certain of the answer. Here's my opinion:
The choice of chord voicings often depends on the chord progression and the intelligence BIAB is applying to give what it thinks makes sense. Sometimes it is incorrect, so I have had success "over-specifying" the chord. For example, if it plays the major seventh but I want a dominant seventh, I often write a ninth chord. To force a major sound without a dominant seventh in a jazz RealTrack, I might write Maj7, 6, 69, etc.
Try some experiments with this.

Hi again, limestone, One other thing to try is Opt | Preferences | Realtracks and remove the check from "On jazz Realtrakcs, jazz up the triads to 7ths".  As Matt points out, though, some RTs have extensions built into the chords that cannot always be removed. This is more likely to occur in the jazz orientated RTs. All the best, Noel
