The patches are typically loaded from the BIAB style. If you are using a midi file, that is a different story as the patches are usually defined in the midi event list. So we need to know if you are using a midi file?
Assuming you are using a BIAB and not a midi file, check that the patches are being saved by pressing ALT F2. The patches defined are there and make sure the checkbox for Save all settings with songs is checked. If a patch says 0 No patch change, that is why the honky tonk piano is heard from one song to the next.
What I would do is to spend some time and find a few styles that have the patches you will use the most and use those.
