I am considering a new Windows tablet (the Asus Slate series are looking good)on which to run BIAB. I have been using an old Fujitsu with a stylus (major pain)for BIAB or an Android 10" tablet with Real Books on Kindle or .PDF and neither are really optimal. A nice 12" Gorilla Glass multi-core touch interface is definitely in my future.

I like the idea of BIAB "unplugged" and I have a Roland Street Cube amp as well as a battery-operated woodwind controller (WX-7) and COULD actually power my Ketron SD-4 by USB, though that would probably shorten my battery life considerably.

I was thinking the CPUs are capable enough, and with a 30GB SSD drive for the OS and programs, I could run Real Tracks from a 64GB flash drive and play melody via a software sample player.

I have yet, though, to find an easy-ti-use sample player with no latency that could be used in a live situation. I played with NI Kontakt 5 player, and it is way overkill. Also, I am somewhat spoiled by General MIDI after all these years. Granted, Real Tracks makes that less an issue, but I have pretty much memorized where a flute is vs. a muted trumpet.

Any thoughts ?
