Obviously I don't know everything but what company does this? I've never heard or seen any that gives prerelease info. Even unofficial rumours gets companies in trouble sometimes when the thing rumored about doesn't happen. To tell people that oh yeah we're working on a mid year update and our target is whatever, then it doesn't happen, then what? For all we know, the lead developer had a heart attack and is sitting the hospital right now. Things have to get tested and sorted out and unless the people doing the developing are perfect transcendental geniuses and everything goes exactly to plan then how on earth can they say that until it is in fact, ready for release?
