Many notebook and laptoP specs these days are actually less powerful than many laptops from many years ago, particularly on the lower end of the scale.also not really designed for audio throughput with the heavy load of win7. I learned this he hard way with a toshiba low end pappy purchase last fall. I ended up taking it back to office depot and buying a core i3 Samsung from best buy. Look at a CPU benchmark site for a score. The WMD e series CPU on the toshiba had a terrible score. I should have looked at the benchmark before purchase.
