Oh yes, you can't add this into your act...but I think I will!!

She's not old enuff either, but I love her voice and her band "swing out" on this wonderful, great gift from Steven Sondheim! Listen to the second number from her..."You Needed Me"

Just another great gift from Sondheim!!

Just a couple of examples of how music can reflect and get us through some tough times in life.
I thought of all the fellow "seniors" who have been sharing==and caring---and coping over setbacks and such.

Glad your still here, and I almost forgot how good looking Shirley Bassey was. I guess today she would be called "hot".

DANNY...

I'll try...but I've been "on" a Scientific American Pacemaker since '06...and along with my new Motorola
Surfboard Modem...I'm so easily dumped into Gulf Tropical Storms, ala the latest one, "Debbie"...and it
all just slows this "cat" down to the point of a slow waltz. I just wish it would stop raining ?!

It's surprising how many folks get all freaked out by 3 numbers. 666! They have no more meaning than 123, but still folks get all nutzoid about them. (Actually, 123 has more relevance since ......, ... well if I've gotta explain it, you wouldn't understand anyway.)

They're just numbers and nothing more.

JMHO.

But it IS strange that when I hit on the post "666", Tropical Storm "Debbie" arrived off the Florida Gulf Coast, and "enjoyed" G-Daddy's neighborhood so much that she has "stayed put" for the past few days dumping rains that the locals haven't seen in years...she's dumping warm and wet, all over the state, along with high circular winds that have spawned a number of small tornados and some nasty flooding...mostly Central Florida. Aside from ripping down a number of stately Oaks, Debbie has brought enuff dark clouds into my sedate life....for me to keep posting "feverishly" until she takes off for south Georgia....slowly...so slowly!

The number 666 in the Biblical prophecy referred to a specific Caesar (sorry, don't recall which one) and has already been fulfilled. Therefore it is null and void as far as the present is concerned. Unfortunately, like the number 13, it has entered the culture in the popular mind as a portent of evil. It just ain't so, friends.

We now return you to your regular programming.

CARLOS:
GRACIAS!!

It's been quite awhile, I know...I haven't had my internet up for months. I'm still playing (along with my J.Turner knock-offs) ...my ol' Roland GR-303 Metheny Synth/Jazz Solid-Body Guitar...the sole reason that in subsequent years I've added a dozen or more synth keyboards/sound modules/recording equipment...all because I happened to pick up on Metheny's approach to jazz via synth/guitar sounds! I remember you emailing me about the "GR-303"! I also picked up a couple of fretless basses...ala Jaco Pastorius..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cpwaq7CxD4&feature=related

What "set me off" as a Metheny fan...???
I had had too many martinis that day, many years ago... and ended up picking up some chick, plopping her on the back of my Honda 750 bike, and somehow making it up thru Chicago's Outer-Drive to her pad...and first thing she did was get "Are You Going With Me" on the turntable...
All I know, this record was spinning us around...I was already mezmerized with her, and no doubt this with Metheny playing in the back-ground, was my "rite of passage" into Metheny Land!

I remember stumbling over a Roland "303" and the little blue synth that came with it, in the early eighties...
That lil synth guitar could really "shout it out", as this video shows it in action...eventually, after his
girl singers turn the stage over to Pat!
