If your Roland Sound Module has a MIDI in, and your computer has a USB out you can get a USB-MIDI interface. It's a small piece of hardware, USB powered and it is relatively inexpensive. If you don't need other bells and whistles, something like a M-Audio Uno, Roland UM-ONE, or Edirol UM-1EX should set you back less than $50.00 I have a couple of old Edirol UM-1 interfaces that have been working flawlessly for years.
