Hi Doug, There are a couple of ways to mute drums. Perhaps the easiest is to right-click on the first bar and then choose "Bar Settings". You'll see a button labelled "Drums". Click on that and choose the "Mute" option. You'll need to repeat the process on bar 9 and set the drums back to normal. You can also set styles using the above dialogue box. Click on the STY button near the top of the pop-up box. (Note: instead of right-clicking, it's possible to click on the bar and then use the shortcut, F5.) The other useful way of muting instruments is to use the "rest, shots, holds" shortcuts. Have a look in the Help menu and under "Index" look for "Rests".  All the best, Noel P.S. I see Matt beat me!
