My son buys and sells boutique basses. When he ships them, he takes care to package them securely with padding, and he always pays for insurance.
On one of his transactions, the bass arrived with the head snapped off (like the guitar in the video) He thought "No problem.. that's why I bought insurance"
Wrong.
UPS said he must have packaged it incorrectly, and they denied the claim!! (their definition of a properly packaged item is that it must be able to withstand a 4 foot drop at any angle! Since his bass did not withstand it, it was improperly packaged and they weren't liable!!!)
My brother in law worked for UPS briefly, and he said stuff gets thrown around and dropped more than you'd think
