Yeah, RB is linear. BiaB has repeats like that, but not in RB.

I'd merge it, open the resulting wav file and work with that for pasting, instead of the original seq file. You'd be accmplishing the same thing and take less disk space. Just open the wave file, copy/paste the sections, and render to wave.
ROG's Bars window suggestion would still work as long as you set the tempo the same in the new file as it was in the old..
