Hi Frank, If you install Fre:Ac, it will also install LAME.DLL (a freeware driver for creating mp3s; it has an excellent reputation.) It sound like you might have read my post under the "Tips And Tricks" forum on using Fre:Ac to create mp3s. If not, I suggest you have a look at it as it will help.
