I am not sure if this is a known bug. My RealBand 2012 is updated to ver6.0
I have a VST synth (KONTAKT from native instruments).
I set a MIDI bass track in RealBand to sound through (Lets say) channel 1 of the VST instrument
It sounds ok. The MIDI goes through the VST instrument and it sounds.
Now, I hit stop / rewind and then play again and the sound coming from the VST instrument is gone.
The VST synth ceases from delivering any sound while it shows MIDI activity passing through to it.....
It feels that every time I stop the song and then play again, it mutes the VST synth for some reason....
Any Ideas?

Could be a number of things. Look for CC7 (Volumn)or CC11 (Expression)data in the track - for example the track may be faded out at the end to CC7 or CC1 value zero and not reset at the restart. I find it best to remove all Controller data and use the Mixer to control volume.

Your suggestion could be the solution.
But I would need to ask how do I remove all Controller Data like you suggested?
Because, using the Midi Monitor I notice RealBand Spitting a couple of midi events every time I press stop or play.

Check event list -
highlite the MIDi track and hit F2 key
Look for control change messages
Or use 'Cut' and then use 'Data Filter' to cut only control change events..
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I used your method. Problem is still there. It looks like when you Press Play / Stop, the program is sending suspicious MIDI events which can not be filter by your presented method....
I am stuck once again.

When you hit stop, look at the mixer for that MIDI channel and make sure the EXP knob hasn't been turned down. That can keep MIDI sound from coming through. If it is, then you want to look for CC #11 messages in the MIDI stream, which will reset that controller.
Something else to try is to insert an explicit CC #11 at the beginning of the track with a value of 127 and see if it plays okay then.

YES SIR.
The EXP knob is turned down !!!!!
When I turn it up the sound comes back .....
I don't know why this happens and what that EXP knob is supposed to do....
I consider the solution you provided as a workaround.

The EXP knob is the expression knob, which also serves as a volume control of sorts. Again, using the F2 key, I would look through the MIDI stream for each track and see if there are any CC #11 commands there. If so, you could either delete them, or if they are part of the volume control of the track, just set CC #11 to a value of 127 (as I mentioned previously), which should reset EXP the next time you hit play.

After a lot of troubleshooting, I gave a very detailed report about this problem to PG Tech support on March 16, (2012).
They replied: "There's indeed a bug in build 6 that we are aware of which sets expression of several tracks to 0, causing them to be silent with most software instruments. We hope to have a patch available soon that resolves this issue.
I'm still waiting . . .
