I have 2 relevant folders on the C drive. Program Files - I will assume this is where "non 64 bit" programs are automatically stored. Program Files (x86) - I will assume this is where "64 bit programs are automatically stored.
you have it backwards. The x86 is for the 32 bit programs

Having said all that, .......... I have learned a lot (thanks to all), and will buy BB 2012 or whatever PGM will or will not offer in the next weeks. I will also buy Music Creator for TTS1.... After I reconfirm that TTS1 (rather than Forte) is the best in the price range, and that BIAB 2012 and TTS1 will run together on my laptop spec.... Win 7Home Premium/64/8gb RAM.
a phrase you'll hear here a lot is "your mileage may vary". When it comes to synths, there really is no "best". One synth has a good xxx instrument, another has a good yyy instrument. I have both the TTS-1 and the Forte DXI, and I use them both for different things. Generally speaking I like the Forte a bit better.

This experience has given me a warm feeling that there is "real, noob tolerant, and intelligent" support on this forum. Peter G must surely know this and smile in his sleep! My apologies for the one small rant a few days ago.
the initial rant is a rite of passage here! We've almost all come on board with a chip on our shoulder, then with a little coaching realized that our frustration was more because of our own misunderstandings than because of a product deficiency!

Quite uncharacteristic of me. The minor slap on the wrist from Pat was timely and well received. Having mucked around in the forum, I have also found music that some of you guys have created...great to listen to.
I never intended to slap you on the wrist or anywhere else... my apology if anything I said came across that way! I think you have been an uncommonly courteous and receptive new member to the forum, and I expect that we will be hearing some great contributions from you in the user showcase very soon!
And I agree about the quality of music in the user showcase! It's the best sales tool BIAB could possibly have in place! What better salesman than a satisfied customer and his recurring musical successes on display for the world to see?

Before you buy Music Creator, do you have a copy of the Sonar 8.5LE DL? If so try to install it again. Every version of Sonar that I have received, version 5 and up has had both the 32 and the 64 bit versions on it, even the DL versions. You may just have to install the 32 bit version to see the TTS-1.
When you are at the checkout line and they ask if you found everything say "Why, are you hiding stuff?"
64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

I believe that BB2012 comes with a 30-day trial of Coyote Forte, so you'll at least be able to try it out, whether you choose to use it or not.

Mario is right, you don't need to buy Music Creator. If you do you'll have the same problem because you're not a "techo". As I mentioned in my other post, you really, really do need to understand this stuff. First confirm that you only downloaded the 64 bit version of Sonar LE. There should be 32 bit as well. If there isn't then check back to wherever you downloaded it and find the 32 bit version. The 32 bit version should (I think) install the TTS-1 properly. And, get used to those two program folders and what they mean on your computer.
By all means download and use the 30 day demo of the Forte DXi. Do it now and you can be playing it in about two minutes. Another confusing bit. The full name of that synth is Coyote Forte DXi. Not the same thing as the Coyote Wavetable DXi. A lot of folks think they're the same, not so. The Forte DXi you have to pay for after the 30 days and it sounds pretty decent for $40. I think the TTS-1 is about equal to it but different so it's worth it to track that one down and use it too.
As an aside, I'm a tax guy and we specialize in people who live overseas. I have 4 or 5 people who live in Thailand and they've sent me lots of pics. Interesting place.
