I just replayed the song (on the same computer) with no glitch, so I froze the RealDrum track only. I'm still interested in hearing more thoughts on freezing pro's and cons and any other ideas about what caused the glitch in the first place. What kind of computer glitch would cause that to happen? I did notice before the set began that the computer display dimmed all by itself a couple of times, and I thought that was strange because all the power options that would allow display changes are set to never do that when plugged in.

One other thing - at the end of the day yesterday when I shut down the new comuter, it installed 5 updates before turning off (it had already installed what seemed like a zillion updates earlier in the week). Even though I turned off the wireless radio before the service began so there wouldn't be any surprises from the Internet, perhaps some updates had already been downloaded but not yet completely installed, waiting to finish upon shutdown and reboot. Do you think this could have caused the glitch?
