When I was in the debate, I asked the RIAA rep "How then do you justify that authors of books have their books read and the enjoyment derived from those books by people who do not buy them? It is called "the library". How many people signed out "The STand", and Stephen King never got a dime out of all those people enjoying his book for free. How is it that you aren't trying to close down the libraries because they have CDs that people can sign out and, if they choose to, copy them?"

I also pointed out that they were bullies and only went after easy prey just to get their name in the paper and their message across. Their representative, I cannot reveal her name but it rhymes with "chosen", told me that she was not concerned with printed matter, only sound recordings, and would not comment. Cowardly response.
