Hi everyone, I really appreciate all your comments. I have been working on this song off and on for about two months. After initially making the song I set it aside and came back to it after a week or so and I didn’t like it so I started making changes. It went like this, three or four times. I used the stereo in my truck as the testing ground. Usually I found that after getting it to sound really good on my computer and studio monitor speakers, I’d go and put it in my truck and it would sound like crap. If I could get it to sound close to a commercial Cd in terms of volumes, mixing etc. then I knew I was getting close to what it should be . I must have burned almost a half dozen Cd’s in this process. The Song is an old classic by Patsy Montana called: “I want to be a cowboy’s sweetheart”. My song is more like Leann Rimes version which can be seen on Youtube. The forums and Ray Thigpens guide on mixing and mastering was a big help , Thanks to all of you.
