I thought i will share this ...

I was out if town yesterday for our youngest daughter's 21st birthday and on the way back today i decided to pop into my favourtite music store. (seeing that i dropped a lot of the kids' inheritance there anyway (and they texted me about their annual MASSIVE SALE) Seeing that 2012.5 did not appear (at least then) i told the wife I'll just "browse a bit."...

well, i got away with a Rode NT2a studio solution mic for just under $400.

I got home , popped it into my system and re-recorded my version of the Eagles' The Girl from Yesterday.

I was gobsmacked and simultaneously peeved of with myself that i have been so stupid all these years to deprive myself of a quality mic.

Clear as a bell, all the bells and whistles i could have wished for. At last recorded my Sax as well and got a recording that could i can get people ,to listen to.

So after all this , sat down to check our South African Olympic, athletes' progress, checked out PG and saw THE NEWS!

So what could a man do?

What else, order my upgrade!!! (Christmas in July...)

Yes, a nice condensor like that does make a difference. Much more clarity and nuance. Sounds like you've had a good week.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Just curious

I take it through my Digitech Vocalist Live 4 then through a mixer into an M-Audio USB.

My Guitar also goes through the Vocalist to the mixer to be able to use the guitar effects

I have redone 4 songs now and the difference is amazing ....

Planning to redo some tenor sax recordings this weekend as well.

My 2012.5 should arrive on Monday....

Life cannot get better than this!!!

Well heck, I wish I could hear it! Congrats!

I just took the plunge and ordered a condenser - not the same one as yours. But I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much because my room is such that it may not work in here even with my makeshift vocal booth. I'll know soon. Hope I'm as thrilled as you are.
