Using Bar settings still does not do what I want to do.
Bar settings only allows to change the real track.
It doesn't give the option to change the timing of the real track.
The way that I finally did what I wanted to do is I add the 2nd bass track to the Melody
track and set in Bar settings for the Melody to be muted on part A and then for the bass part to be muted on part B.
It may have easier to use Realband.
