Hi Leonard, I probably know as much as you do on writing music an such (although I have a pretty good ear for it), but I can tell you that once you generate a melody or solo for that matter,it pretty much stays the way it is unless you re-generate the melody, in other words, you have to hit "generate melody" again for it to create a new melody along the same chords. just leave the rest of the parameters the way they are and it will generate a new melody. Now be aware that there are only a few notes combination (if we want to call it that way)so sometimes the melody will sound pretty similar to the one before, so you have to have patience and mess around with it until you find the one you like. Chances are that someone else will respond to this with a little more knowledge so we both can learn from it.
