I am using windows 7 and while, after a shut down the BIAB window re-opens to a full screen but all it takes is one simple operation to get it back to 50/50 for the new session.
Hold down the Windows Icon Key (next to "alt key" on my computer) and hit the "right" arrow key . . . bam you are back to a 50/50 screen.
