Ok, so you have Windows 7 (not Vista) and you did not load Kaspersky after the reformat. All good. Microsoft Security Essentials does not interfere with the BIAB installation; I also use that for my virus checker and do not have to turn it off.

There are two installs. If the BIAB_Realband setup .exe file ran successfully, that's all you really need unless you want Amplitude, and we all got along fine without it before it was introduced. I still don't use it.

My suggestion at this point would be for you to request PG Support take control of your computer remotely. They can see where you did the install and correct whatever is needed. I can tell you that you can install BIAB pretty much anywhere EXCEPT for the /Program Files folder (either one, if 64-bit). We normally recommend people just accept the suggested default location of C:/BB if you don't feel comfortable with file management on your computer.

By the way, I haven't used Kaspersky but I doubt it altered your files. Virus checkers will quarantine infected files but not delete them. You have a new setup file anyway to use on your newly formatted drive, so it should work fine. If not, do what I suggested and consult Support to fix it remotely.
