Hey Mick, Good on you for having a go! About 6 years ago, I thought I'd try to learn how to write lyrics. It's been a long, sometimes slow, but always enjoyable road. Like everything, it's all about practice. The more one does it, the better the lyrics become. If you're interested in an easy-to-read little book that's brilliant, Have a look a Andrea Stolpe's "10 Steps to Effective Story Telling". This is one of those books that I just keep on going back to time and again. The other books that I find outstanding are all by Pat Pattison and called ... - Essential Guide To Lyric Form And Structure (Berklee College)
